Mid North Coast Correctional Centre is a maximum and minimum security centre for males and females situated at Aldavilla, 455 km north of Sydney and 14 km west of Kempsey. It will be expanded to create an additional 400 beds and 110 jobs for the region.
The expansion will also involve;
an upgrade to the women's multipurpose unit; and
supporting infrastructure incl. car parking, staff facilities, programs, industries, inmate processing and a clinic for the new medium security compound
In 2007, BBC Consulting Partners were engaged to carry out community and stakeholder consultation during the development of the Review of Environmental Factors (REF).
The REF covered;
social and economic impacts;
impacts on the amenity of nearby neighbours;
traffic, access and parking during construction and operation phases;
geotechnical information, stormwater and waste management;
environmental impacts; and
Aboriginal and European heritage.
The findings are available online.
NSW Department of Justice engaged JBA Urban Development Consultants to carry out community and stakeholder consultation during the development of the Review of Environmental Factors (REF). The community was invited to share their questions or feedback. This is currently being reviewed and will be made available online in the coming weeks.
