The Juniperina Juvenile Justice Centre at Lidcombe NSW was transferred to Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) on 1st July 2016 and gazetted under the name Mary Wade Correctional Centre in September 2016. The existing facility will be repurposed as a maximum security remand centre for up to 94 female inmates.
The repurposing activities
associated with the proposal are to be undertaken within the boundary of the
existing correctional complex.
NSW Department of Justice engaged Public Works Advisory to carry out community and stakeholder consultation during the development of the Review of Environmental Factors (REF).
The REF consultation period closed on 31 October 2016 with outcomes of the finalised REF published below.
