Consultation Process

The construction work within existing centres will be undertaken in accordance with the State Environmental Planning Policy (Infrastructure) 2007. In determining the proposals, the Department of Justice is required to consider their impacts in accordance with the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979. The potential impacts will be documented in a Review of Environmental Factors, which will consider such matters as socio-economic impacts, impacts on the amenity of neighbours, and traffic.

The Department of Justice and its consultants will consult with and inform the community and stakeholders during the planning, construction and opening of the new facilities. Our website will be updated regularly, and information disseminated via local letterbox drops, newspaper advertisements and articles as well as community information sessions (where required).
