An effective method of local engagement is via each correctional centre's Community Consultative Committee, which plays an important liaison role on a range of issues around construction, operations, and community projects. Many of the correctional centres will be reforming their committees over the coming months. The committee will be as representative of the local community as possible, and seek to include residents, local government, state government agencies, businesses and NGOS in the mix. The average committee will have up to 12 members. Anyone can approach their local correctional centre and ask to be a member of the committee.
Please refer to the relevant correctional centre webpage which will be updated when there are opportunities to apply.
