Your Right to Information

On 1 July 2010 the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) came into effect. The GIPA Act:

  • creates rights to information that are designed to meet community expectations of more open and transparent government; and
  • encourages government agencies to proactively release Government information.

What is a Publication Guide?

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) publishes a range of information under the GIPA Act. One way information is proactively released is by means of the CSNSW website.

Certain government information is required by the GIPA Act to be published and is called "open access information". The CSNSW Publication Guide is one of the records that makes-up open access information.
