Broken Hill Correctional Centre is a medium and minimum security facility for male and female offenders, It's located in far western NSW, 1190km from Sydney.
The medium security section is a reception prison for a large area of the State bordered by Queensland in the north, Victoria in the south and South Australia in the west. It holds a mixture of sentenced and remand inmates.

There is a train station at Broken Hill situated about 2km from the centre. The service is operated by CountryLink and Great Southern Railways. NSW TrainLink
Broken Hill is also serviced by private coaches and airlines.
The centre is a 20 minute walk or a five minute taxi ride from the train station.
From Sydney, turn right from the main street (Argent St) at the first set of traffic lights into Oxide St. Turn left at the Wolfram St roundabout and the centre is at the end of Wolfram St.
From Adelaide, turn right into Galena St and travel for two blocks. Turn left into Gossan Street. The centre is located on the right.
Street parking is only available.
Saturday and Sunday: 9.30 - 11.30am and 1 - 3pm.
Visitors can attend both sessions. They need to be at the main gate for processing between 9-9.30am or 12.30-1pm.
