Home Detention Orders

Home Detention is a means of diverting offenders from full-time custody, while providing a high level of community protection. This penalty is only available for offenders who are sentenced to imprisonment for a maximum of 18 months and who are deemed suitable for the program following a rigorous assessment process.

Community Corrections Officers develop and implement a case management plan which permits staged access to out-of-home activities such as employment and training. Offenders are monitored 24 hours/day, with the assistance of electronic devices.
